Empowering the Next Generation: Turnkey Financial Literacy Curriculum

Empowering the Next Generation: Turnkey Financial Literacy Curriculum

An open door and door knob.

As a society, we’ve moved closer to acknowledging that financial education — financial literacy education for high schools, specifically — is something that we should focus on. More and more states are mandating financial literacy curriculums in high schools, colleges, and even in middle schools. We’ve reached a point where it’s becoming increasingly clear that teaching kids about money is incredibly important.

But from a school district’s perspective — or a teacher’s, or a school administrator’s — there are plenty of hurdles to overcome. Technological hurdles. Parental preference hurdles. Ideological hurdles. It can be a lot.

That’s why we thought it would be worth reminding any and all, once again, that Money Vehicle is a true turnkey financial literacy curriculum for high schools, colleges, and more. We’ve put in the work to make sure our course and offerings conform to state standards. We work closely with teachers, school administrators, journalists, and financial professionals to ensure that the content in the course is up-to-date and accurate. We even have an entire team dedicated to making sure that any tech hiccups are dealt with promptly.

A turnkey financial literacy course for schools

As a refresher, Money Vehicle focuses its financial literacy curriculum around a series of modules:

  • Goal-setting
  • Time value of money
  • Cash management
  • Bank accounts
  • Credit cards
  • Investing
  • Insurance
  • Cybersecurity
  • Taxes
  • Investment accounts

We’re also a leader in the EdTech space when it comes to teacher resources. As we’ve written previously in a blog post, we begin with a full program integration directly into the teacher’s LMS (learning management system). This integration allows us to come to the teacher, rather than requiring the teacher to try to learn new software or systems in order to use the program. If they are on Canvas, Schoology, or Google Classroom, we provide an LTI integration that populates directly into the classroom.

Next, we empower the teachers with step-by-step lesson plans. A pacing guide will break down the semester day by day, and our Facilitator Guide will help further break down each section’s lesson. These, along with the video tutorials, PowerPoint presentations, and built-in assessments allow us to take a lot off the teacher’s plate and let them do what they do best — Teach!

Again, our goal is to make things simple and easy. Easy for students. Simple for teachers and administrators. But above all, we aim to be effective. We want students to leave the course feeling empowered and confident in how they’ll handle their finances in the future. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to empower the next generation.
