Recently, one of Money Vehicle’s sales representatives, Autumn Ackerman, made the trip to South Carolina to attend a conference. South Carolina is one of a number of states that have recently passed financial literacy education mandates.
We’re happy to report, and wanted to share with you all, that Autumn’s trip was a resounding success! She engaged with ten separate school districts for Money Vehicle demos, and even conducted a webinar with the South Carolina Department of Education — we’re currently working to align the Money Vehicle course to align with the state’s mandates. As we do with all others!
It all goes to show that Money Vehicle is needed, necessary, and a perfect solution for schools around the country. Autumn also wrote up some of her thoughts after returning from the tip — enjoy!
We are SLEEP Therapists
We are sleep therapists for teachers and administrators. Typically when we speak with teachers or admins, what we find is that they stay up long hours, late at night, worrying about creating or finding content that’s engaging and cost-effective, all while keeping up with ever-changing standards. We solve that for them so they get a restful night of sleep.
When I was speaking with different teachers in South Carolina, I found that many teachers were being told they would teach personal finance next year, but they had little to no background knowledge of the subject. Many of these teachers were worried about teaching students this subject during the upcoming school year and were frantically looking for resources to help them.
They were all looking for something engaging and fully built out, or something they could use to build upon what they already had, that would help them be successful in teaching this class, even though they had little knowledge about the subject.
We already know that teachers wear 1,000 hats. What teachers want to do is as much personalized learning with the students as possible. What they end up doing is trying to write their own curriculum, piece things together, or even put bandaids on things to make it work.
We want teachers to have more time to focus on those student outcomes, the way we do that is we make it easy for them to have content that is engaging, and that the students can relate to and learn from, all while being cost-effective.
